Bad Boys For Life

Bad Boys For Life, 6.5/10, brings Will Smith and Martin Lawrence back to our screens for the first time in 17 years. Circumstances have changed for the Bad Boys in that time, with Marcus wanting to hand in his badge and embrace his upcoming retirement. However the bad boys will have to jump into action for one last ride as Mike’s past catches up with him.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much enjoyed this popcorn blockbuster. With every tyre spin, gun shot and witty exchange between the pair; the film held my full attention throughout. It doesn’t just depend on nostalgia for it’s success, it adopts a somewhat more mature and far funnier style than it’s predecessors. The lead duos onscreen chemistry refrained from being too cheesy and had me laughing out loud.

If you can look past a rather poorly shot CG ending and few of Will Smith’s motivating speeches then you’re in for an enjoyable watch all round. By far I would say this is the best instalment in the trilogy and exceeded my expectations considerably.
