Gemini Man

Gemini Man, 5.1/10, is the latest clumsy and stilted sci-fi/action popcorn blockbuster to hit our screens starring Will Smith.

Henry Brogan desperately wants to leave the assassin life when his conscience begins to catch up with him. The only thing getting in his way is himself, well, a younger cloned version of himself.

Requiring low expectations, Gemini Man thought it could rely solely on Smith’s charismatic charm and Instagram style motivational dialogue to carry this film to some sort of success. However, the tasteless and unsubtle script accompanied by a subpar story line turns the action blockbuster into a laughable affair. Smith isn’t the Hollywood star he once was and if I watched this film in the 90s, I maybe would have thought more of it. However, the action sequences were not innovative or interesting, the comedy makes you cringe and watching Smith vs Smith for 2 hours is tiresome. I would save your money and wait for it to land on a streaming service.
